R. Nakagama opened his first store in Lethbridge in September of 1947 on 1st Ave. S moving it to its present location of 2nd Ave. and 4th St. S. in 1955.  The store originally catered to mostly Southern Alberta Japanese-Canadians but has now evolved into a unique emporium of Japanese foods, snacks, candy, giftware, novelties and kitchenware, serving Southern Albertans from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds.  Our staff with helpful, friendly advice can help you make a simple Japanese dish or a full course meal.  Please also check out our growing supply of unique giftware.  We carry a wide array of ceramic dishware, tea sets, sake sets as well as fans, dolls and chopstick sets.  We also have home accent items like lamps and wall hangings and continually bring in new items for your kitchen and home.  Please feel free to shop or simply browse through our store to experience a little part of Japan right here in Lethbridge.
