The four point approach is a proven strategy in which each component (organization, marketing, design, economic development) contributes to successful long-term heritage preservation and downtown renewal. Pioneered by the U.S. National Trust for Historic Preservation and adopted by Heritage Canada, the approach is based on the principle that sustainable heritage conservation and economic revitalization go hand-in-hand.
