Near the site of the last great Indian battle in Western Canada, Fort Whoop-Up masterfully takes visitors back to a time when furs, illegal whiskey and lawlessness pervaded life on the frontiers. The fort is a reconstruction of southern Alberta's first and most notorious whisky trading post originally located further upstream along the Oldman River. Audio-visual presentations and guided tours augment an inspired re-creation of the area's raw and rugged past. Open year-round with seasonal adjustments in hours of operation, its close proximity to the downtown make it an exciting diversion for families and history buffs of all ages. For more information call (403) 329-0444.

The 'Fort' boasts one of the largest collections of vintage rifles in North America.
