Each year, the Downtown BRZ joins forces with the City of Lethbridge and Communities in Bloom for Pitch-In Canada's 20 Minute Makeover.

Businesses are encouraged to organize their blocks for a Spring clean-up of storefronts and surrounding property. Participating businesses can register at www.pitch-in.ca.

The goal is to show the rest of Canada the pride our businesses have in their environment, downtown and community.

In 2007, the Lethbridge Pitch-In Canada '20 Minute Makeover' took place from April 24-28.

After years of operation just outside of the downtown commercial district boundaries, Ultraviolet Eyewear has relocated to 333 - 5th Street South in the core of Downtown Lethbridge.

Owned and operated by local entrepreneur Simon Atkinson, Ultraviolet Eyewear focuses on carrying high-end eyewear collections that are hard-to-find and often exclusive to Lethbridge.

Simon chose to move his business to the downtown core to gain a much larger storefront and take advantage of the high volumes of foot traffic that the highly visible corner provides.

The Downtown Ambassador Program is one of the most visible and effective initiatives utilized by the Downtown Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ).

Administered out of the BRZ office, this initiative is funded by the City of Lethbridge's Summer Works Program. The student ambassadors are employed during the summer from June until September.

Student ambassadors perform a variety of duties including cleaning streets and lanes, distribution of promotional brochures and flyers for downtown businesses, plugging meters, cleaning windows and assisting with events such as the Bright Lights Festival and Downtown Farmer's Market.
