Your Friendly Neighbourhood Block Party With Flair

The women at Bad Apple Hair Salon not only want to help with making the people of Lethbridge look and feel gorgeous they also want to help those in need.

July 13th at 1 P.M. to 6 P.M. Bad Apple is shutting down the street for their very own block party.

There is plenty of fun to be had with local vendor tables, a garage sale for new and used wares to be purchased and live entertainment.

“We have Cornshed, who has a very Bluegrass kind of feel to their music performing during the block party,” explains Shelby.

A band that hails from the big city of Vancouver will be stopping by the Slice for a performance the next night, July 14, at 9 P.M.

No need to worry, the ladies got you covered for lunch and dinner as they will be having a barbeque to tantalize anyone’s taste buds.

The proceeds from the barbeque will be donated to the Diakonos Retreat Society, a non-profit charitable organization that serves to strengthen peace officers, firefighters, emergency services, military personnel, and their families by providing programs and refuge housing.

“We want to raise awareness in our community that the people who are here to serve and protect us, they struggle too,” explains Shelby, Bad Apple’s receptionist.

“There are programs like Diakonos Retreat Society to help them out, that we support.”

There will be a donation jar out for those who would like to donate to Diakonos Retreat Society.

There will be door prizes of gift baskets that were donated by Express Coffee & Tea and Bad Apple available for raffle purchases.

Throughout the day there will be some Hudson’s Canadian Tap House representatives handing out gift certificates that you can use after the block party festivities has shut down for the evening. Bad Apple welcomes everyone to Hudson’s Canadian Tap House for their after party to unwind.

Be sure to swing by Sunday July 13 from 1 P.M. to 6 P.M., 110 8th St. South to get your block party fix.
