Downtown Ambassador Program

The Downtown Ambassador Program is a year-round program that employs high school, post-secondary, and recently graduated students to help promote downtown Lethbridge. The Ambassadors participate in the core marketing, promotions, and event activities hosted by the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ. This includes attending events to promote downtown, organizing and executing Downtown Lethbridge BRZ events and promotions, creating content for our social media platforms, conducting surveys, visiting businesses, and engaging the community.

The Ambassador team can be seen working in the BRZ office, visiting businesses all throughout downtown, and representing Downtown Lethbridge at various events.

Job Description

The Downtown Lethbridge BRZ is seeking one energetic, organized, and outgoing full-time Ambassador to contribute to our marketing, communications, and engagement initiatives. The Summer Ambassadors will work alongside the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ’s small but dedicated and passionate team in the planning and execution of marketing activities, events, and community engagement. The work conducted in this position will take place both outside, in the community, and inside of our office located in downtown Lethbridge. Applicants may choose to include a cover letter. Applications will be accepted until March 23. Following this date, only successful applications will be contacted for interviews.

Summer Ambassador Duties

Duties include:

- Assist in the organization, planning, and execution of promotional activities and traditional and digital campaigns such as Foodie Fest, Farmers Markets, social media, and more. - Attend community events inside and outside of the downtown zone to promote Downtown Lethbridge.- Data compilation, market research, and analytics.- Interact and network with businesses in the downtown core to build individual and organizational relationships.- Content creation and implementation of strategic social media plans (Ambassadors take on the core responsibility for social media during their employment).- Help create brand awareness and ensure brand consistency in the community. The Ambassadors are the face of downtown during the summer and will be required to participate in content creation and public events.

Qualifications- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary business, management, marketing, or communications program is an asset.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Existing knowledge about Canva, adobe programs, and short video creation programs is an asset. - Able to fulfill the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Hours of Work- 37.5 hours a week, $17 per hour- Daytime hours with occasional evening and weekend work.- Fulltime, summer position with a targeted start date of April 28 or May 5
