Ibrahim Turay has over 20 years of experience as a former criminal justice professional and is currently an educator at Lethbridge Polytechnic's School of Justice Studies. Additionally, he serves as a Sessional Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Lethbridge. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Cultural, Social, and Political Thought, a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a diploma in Correctional Services from the Universities of Lethbridge, Alberta, Calgary and Grant MacEwan, respectively. Dr. Turay specializes in counter-storytelling as a Critical Race Theory methodology. His professional interests include Black youth-police interactions, racialization, racial profiling, marginalization, youth gangs, and corrections.
