What is the cost of booking Festival Square?
The service and equipment rental fees associated with booking Festival Square are outlined in the application form. Each booking requires a damage deposit that will be determined and communicated to the event organizer prior to the event.
This deposit shall be returned to the applicant, without interest, and less any set off for damages to the Festival Square area upon the completion of the event.
What equipment is available?
There is a wide variety of equipment available for applicants looking to book Festival Square:

What are the specifications regarding a road closure?
When booking Festival Square, applicants have the option to request a road closure for their event. This is indicated as Zone 3 in the Festival Square Event Application Form.
Once an application has been approved, the road will be closed by the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ prior to the event and opened back up by the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ following the event.
How far in advance can I book my event?
We are currently taking applications into next year! Booking dates come on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to book an event with little notice, this will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
How much notice is required to request a road closure?
A minimum of two weeks before the proposed event date is required when requesting a road closure.
What are the insurance requirements? Do the requirements change if I am planning to serve liquor at the event?
Commercial General Liability (including participants coverage) is required, for personal injury, including bodily injury and/or death sustained by any person or persons and damage to others, for a limit of not less than Two Million ($2,000,000) Dollars per coverage.
The Downtown Lethbridge BRZ must be an additional insured and included in a “Cross Liability Clause”. Proof of insurance must be provided two (2) weeks prior to the event.
Private events and any event (public or private) providing alcohol sales will require their own insurance with the above requirements.
What are the rules regarding serving food at an event booking?
Serving food in Festival Square is allowed. However, the provision of food and beverages must be identified at the time of application. Services must meet Chinook Regional Health Authority standards and requirements.

Is there power available? What kind?
Electrical access is available to applicants, there is access to 50 amp plug-ins, 30 amp plug-ins, and 15 amp plug-ins.
What kinds of events are allowed at Festival Square?
Events of all nature are permitted at Festival Square and we would love to hear your ideas! The final decision on whether an event is approved for a permit is ultimately that of the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ.
